Taking a bath is sometimes a sticky situation with us dogs. (That can be taken literally. Woof woof!) Some of us dogs don’t even care for baths. Easier to give a good lickin’ and be done. Some of us whine, tremble, or we just stand there lookin’ pitiful beggin’ for it to be over with. That’s not the way it is for me.
I love baths. I get one every few weeks. My best bud will take my collar off, get some towels, and tell me “ali-oop” to get in the tub. (There’s an inside tub for winter and an outside tub for summer.) I’ll jump in, get hosed down, and then I get all lathered up with the lavender scented dog shampoo bar. It’s like a nice massage and I get all this attention. Like, “Good boy”, and I’ll get some yummy treats afterwards.
I’m making it sound easy though. It really is a process. Brushing my teeth, cutting/buffing my nails, and a beard trim. It takes a while. I just sleep or relax through it. Like I said, pure attention. I can say also that at the end it’s more playing than relaxing. My best buds got this thing called a hair dryer. She uses it to dry me off and I get to nip at the air and make crazy circles. However, before she uses it, I shake out most of the water. It’s funny and makes me happy when my best bud makes faces at me and says, “Awe…Koah!”
I smell pretty good after my bath and I get way more snuggles. I also get to be real close to my best bud on the couch. The couch snugglin’ doesn’t happen all the time. Usually I get the large foot stool. So, all in all, baths are great. I hope all you all out there enjoy baths too. If ya don’t then maybe you can tell me your story.
